Our University has almost 35% students from 100 different countries all over the world. Be it Bachelors or Masters, you will always feel globalization in each part of every classroom. As expected of one of the most international universities in Bavaria!

Back in India, I didn’t really meet a lot of people outside India. Most of my interactions with them came from my travels around India, when I could meet tourists from all over the world and get an insight into their culture. But you know, you can never get a proper introduction till you meet that person a lot of times and start to see how it makes them how they are. So, I was very excited to study in Germany and at DIT.

When I came to Germany, I was staying in a WG with two Bavarian students. One of them was older than me and the other one younger. So I got to experience the two generations of Bavaria before I even stepped out! That was, you could say, my proper first impression of Germany and the world as a whole.

And of course, in the university I could meet even more nationalities and make more friends around the world. In my classroom itself, I had classmates from Germany, China, Jordan, Indonesia and a lot more! It was a surreal feeling being surrounded by so many nationalities that have one common goal: study (and also to have some fun as a student!). The fact that you can just walk inside your university and basically meet the world still baffles me to this day.

I do have to give a shout-out to ESN (Erasmus Student network). It is the best way to make friends all around the world and try a whole lot of experiences and create so many memories! Not only you get to find a similar thinking group of people inside ESN, through all the events, you also get to meet so many people from different parts of the world and celebrate all their countries and cultures!

The international feeling you get at DIT is second to none. Students with different backgrounds, different cultures and different countries working together on projects, having lunch together and making memories with each other is what makes our university a place of education, a center of study. Students aren’t burdened by their country’s issues with other countries and they rightly don’t let it affect their view of each other. In the university, you are a student and a fellow classmate first. Isn’t that how we should look at this world too? That we are all human beings first?
