All pupils of the surrounding grammar schools from the 10th grade and the FOS/BOS are allowed to participate, who
- can show very good school performance
- are particularly motivated and talented
- have the permission of their parents and teachers
- have applied to DIT
- have been approved by DIT
Please also see the application information on our website.
On our website you will find the application form that we need you to fill out (including the consent of the school and parents). In addition, we need a copy of your last report card and a letter of motivation in which you explain why you want to participate in the early study programme (approx. one page=.
- Who decides about participation?
Your school management has to agree. The DIT makes the final selection.
- Why should I start an early study programme?
You can deepen your aptitudes and interests and, if you successfully pass the exam, you can also earn ECTS credits which can be credited to your later studies. In addition, you will get to know the processes on campus and can make contact with "normal" students. In this way, you will receive a lot of first-hand information about the processes at a university and about the study programmes. The certificate of attendance you receive is a sign of extraordinary commitment in your future application and can open many doors.
- Can you do this alongside school?
Only you can answer this question - together with your teachers. It is important to know that the events are not events for students, but regular lectures for enrolled students. In addition, any missed school material must be made up for.
You have to discuss this with your teachers.
If you ave enough ambition and commitment, you are up to the challenges at DIT!
- Which subjects are available?
You can find the current course programme here on our website. It varies from semester to semester. Please note that the lectures for early studies are not extra lectures for students, but normal lectures for regular students.
- Does early study cost anything?
No. Early study is free of charge.
You will receive a chip card like regular students, but with limited functions. With this card you can use the library, for example.
- Do I have advantages in a later study?
If you pass the exam, you may be able to have your ECTS credits credited in a later study programme. Failure to pass an exam has no negative consequences.
- What if the school's timetable overlaps with the university's timetable?
This has to be discussed individually with your teacher and your school management.
- Can I change lectures during the semester?
It is not possible to change after the start of the lecture.
- Can I end my early studies early?
If you hae any problems, it is best to contact your early study advisor at DIT. You can end your early studies at any time without negative consequences. However, you should discuss this with your contact person at DIT and the school.
- What happens once I have been accepted into the early study programme?
Before each semester, there is an introductory event for early students where you will learn everything you need to know.
There is a contact person at DIT who is responsible for you and will help you with your questions and concerns.
- Am I insured for the distances between my home or school and DIT?
Yes, you are insured through the GUVV (Gemeindeunfall-Versicherungsverband).
