Since we were established more than 29 years ago, we have focused on internationality and interculturalism. We maintain partnerships with 200 universities worldwide, and each semester we welcome around 150 exchange students from all over the world, who enjoy perfect conditions for their participation in the Erasmus+ programme. The modular structure of our English-language exchange programmes General Engineering, General Business and International Computer Science allow the academic requirements of a semester abroad to be tailored to the individual needs of each exchange student. Extracurricular activities from the International Office and the Erasmus Student Network ESN club, complete the agenda to make a semester abroad at DIT an unforgettable experience.
Our faculties welcome international degree-seeking students in all degree programmes. DIT has the largest range of English-language degree programmes in Bavaria, with the European Campus Rottal-Inn in Pfarrkirchen being the only campus in Bavaria to host all lectures exclusively in English. The proportion of international students in German-language degree programmes is also impressive: a total of almost 45% of DIT students come from over 100 countries around the world to study in Deggendorf, Pfarrkirchen or Cham. In "Let's get Started" prep semester, international applicants can acquire all the necessary language qualifications to successfully complete a German-language degree programme. So intercultural contacts are part of everyday life here, and intercultural skills can be acquired in daily life at any of our campuses.
Our students who want to go abroad benefit from a wide range of support, whether they choose to complete study, an internship, or attend a summer school abroad.
Furthermore, professors and support staff can benefit from international exchange within the framework of staff mobility. International guest lecturers enrich teaching in all subjects, as do international workshops and projects organised at DIT's research-intensive technology campuses. Speaking of research: we are Bavaria's most research-intensive university of applied science with projects far outreaching the local region.
International students become international alumni, DIT alumni are sought-after employees in companies worldwide. The transition from student to professional working life is effortless thanks to the good support of the Career Service. The domestic alumni network accompanies alumni on their way abroad and provides support through programmes such as international mentoring or the international ambassador programme (in 2022).
DIT is home to the Bavaria-Malaysia Coordination Office (COBM), which centrally supports the German-language studies of Malaysian scholarship holders in Bavaria.
Last but not least, our Language Centre teaches students necessary skills - namely a higher level of efficiency in several foreign languages.
Choosing Deggendorf means choosing the world.
