Angela Ahrendt (née Velkova) serves as Senior Director of Healthcare and Lifesciences within the Strategic Communications division at FTI Consulting, a leading global business advisory firm. Prior to joining FTI, she was the Director of Communities and Strategic Relations for EMEA at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). With over a decade of experience, Angela has built her expertise in the intersection of European and national healthcare policies, with a particular focus on enabling the diffusion of innovation within the healthcare sector. Angela develops activation strategies for key stakeholders in digital health, while adeptly navigating the complex policy landscape in highly regulated industries such as healthcare and technology. Angela has dedicated her career to supporting the adoption of digital health solutions and strengthening trust in digital innovation across the healthcare community. In collaboration with experts from the Deggendorf Institute of Technology and the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, Angela has contributed strategies for enhancing and upskilling the healthcare workforce in the upcoming Springer Nature publication, Digital Maturity of Hospitals.
