The security of IT systems is increasingly in focus. In the area of IT security, there are only a few extra-occupational master's degree programmes that provide comprehensive qualifications for the experts of tomorrow with special areas of specialisation. The Master Cyber Security is one of the few part-time IT security study courses in Germany, which enables you to obtain a holistic qualification in this field.

  • Degree: Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)
  • Duration: 4 Vorlesungssemester (Präsenzphase), 5. Semester reserviert für die Masterthesis

  • Maximum number of participants: 15 students per year
  • Time required for the attendance phases: good compatibility of studies and work; two lecture blocks per semester (Saturday to Saturday all day); the school holidays customary in Bavaria are mostly lecture-free; place of study: Deggendorf
  • Event notes: Information events at 6:00 p.m. at the Weiterbildungszentrum der Technischen Hochschule Deggendorf, ITC 2, Dieter-Görlitz-Platz 1, 94469 Deggendorf, where the head of the course of studies Prof. Dr. Andreas Grzemba will present the course of studies, will take place again from 2020.   • Costs: 3,700.00 EUR + 52.00 EUR student union fee per semester + one-time administration fee of 1,150

Target Group

The course of study is aimed at graduates from the fields of computer science and engineering who wish to deepen their specialist knowledge in the field of Industry IT Security. Special emphasis is placed on the application of security technologies in the context of Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructures.

Admission requirements:

Completed first degree in the field of engineering at a recognized university

  •     Degree course with a focus on electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or computer science (at least 210 ECTS)
  •     At least one year of professional experience in the field of computer science

Apply online via the Primuss application portal  for part-time degree programmes with the following documents:

  •     Letter of motivation (1 page, signed)
  •     Tabular curriculum vitae (signed) with passport photo
  •     Copy of the certificate of the first degree (official certification is only required upon enrollment, if not acquired at DIT)
  •     Proof of professional experience (at least 1 year) after completion of the first degree (confirmation from the employer or job reference)
  •     Simple copy of the university entrance qualification, e.g. school leaving certificate
