What do you like most about DIT? The commitment of the professors
Abdul's home away from home in Pfarrkirchen
Abdul is studying the Master´s Healthy and Sustainable Buildings programme at the ECRI after completing his bachelor´s degree in civil engineering. He stumbled upon Pfarrkirchen when he was looking for a Master´s degree in English. He is amazed by the professors´ commitment, which motivates him to put everything into his studies.
For him, the campus feels like a home filled with lots of family members, which gives him support since he really misses his family back home. He also misses his mum´s cuisine, especially Afghan Palaw, a famous food from Afghanistan which is a mix of rice, meat and vegetables and tastes delicious if you ask Abdul. Even though he can recreate this dish here, the one his mum makes remains special to him. Abdul is passionate about food and would recommend anyone who is not a vegetarian to try Afghan
Palaw once.
After finishing his degree, he would love to put his learnings into practice, preferably at a local company. For Abdul, the most important aspect would be that the job is closely interlinked with his field of studies, which is the green building sector.
