faculty of electrical engineering & media technology

close integration of research & industry

In the Master's programme "Applied Research in Engineering Sciences", young engineers are comprehensively trained for an activity in applied research and development. The course is closely linked to actual aF&E projects and is accompanied by in-depth teaching modules tailored to the selected project. The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Media Technology thus offers a bridge between applied research and development and industrial practice.

The subject-specific orientation depends on the selected project topic or the selected courses. The project topic is offered by the supervising university lecturer from his R&D activities. The courses are individually arranged with the supervisor in connection with the task.

In the course of our studies, we strive for further scientific qualification of the student(s), within the framework of which a publication is also produced. Each student will be supervised by a professor in a research project throughout his/her studies.

The Master's programme is offered jointly by the universities of Amberg/Weiden, Augsburg, Deggendorf, Ingolstadt, Munich, Nuremberg and Regensburg. Thus, a wide range of research topics and courses is available and every student can establish valuable contacts with research institutes and companies for his or her later professional activities during his or her studies.

Study objective
On the one hand, the training objective is to deepen the specialist knowledge in the application-oriented research and development task carried out. On the other hand, skills in scientific work in the areas of project management, research, acquisition of funding, preparation of research proposals, presentation of results and in the preparation of a scientific publication suitable for publication are to be acquired. In this way, students acquire the competence to work on technical-scientific projects.
