The aim of the bachelor's programme is to train sports scientists who are able to work on relevant issues and perform managerial tasks on the basis of medical, sports scientific, salutogenetic and evidence-based findings in health care, organised sport and health economics. The course imparts knowledge and skills for the application in sports sciences in order to be able to work in the field of health promotion and health education, in occupational health management, as a trainer in health, prevention and rehabilitation facilities, as well as in sports clubs and sports associations using the basic biological study contents.

Your advantages at a glance:

  •     A high proportion of sports practice in the total workload of the degree programme (40 sports) with a separate module on high-performance and top-level sports on Lake Attersee.
  •     In the case of state or federal selection athletes, the personal training can be credited towards the specialist internship.
  •     Cooperation for the Bachelor programme with the Swiss Sports University in Magglingen (EHSM)
  •     Possibility to license a large number of established interprofessional qualifications for work in the 1st and 2nd healthcare market.

  • General university entrance qualification
  • Passed DIT aptitude test (subject to approval by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Culture)
  • Medical certificate of unrestricted fitness for sport

Prerequisites : Knowledge of basic biological subjects would be an advantage

Fees : No tuition fees, only €52 student service fee per semester


Career prospects

In detail, the students acquire:

  •     comprehensive methodical, technical and practical competences in sports sciences, which enable them to solve problems directly, to take on management functions in institutions, bodies and organisations of the health care system, sport and health economy in a well-founded and responsible manner,
  •     the ability to critically review and expand one's own intervention spectrum on the basis of evidence-based knowledge, to understand it on a scientific basis and to use it in a differentiated manner,
  •     social and social-educative skills as well as cooperation skills that allow them to act confidently in a complex, multi-professional and intercultural environment and to act competently and in compliance with the law.
