The aim of the Women's Representative is to give women's issues a higher profile at our university and to be a contact point for professors, teaching staff and students at the university and beyond. Our range of services is intended to help all women at the university to enhance their career opportunities and to promote their opportunities for further education. Such a network can serve as a source of information and contact point for those seeking information, and can also provide a forum in which experiences can be exchanged. Women are also encouraged to strive for academic titles. The university aims to increase the number of female professors and teaching staff. Diversity stands for a respectful and inclusive approach to our progressively multifaceted society.
The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) aims to prevent discrimination on the basis of race or ethnic origin, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity.
As a place of research and teaching, our university has the task of addressing diversity and discrimination and raising awareness of diversity and discrimination.
The topics of equality and equal opportunities play a central role at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology. We do not only mean equality of the sexes, but also the equal treatment of people of different nations, cultural and religious origins.

Whether women are in management positions or not has long ceased to be a question of equal opportunities or political correctness. In times of global competition and lack of managers, it is rather economically imperative to recruit managers from the supply of both genders. It is not a matter of victory or defeat for women and/or men, but rather of profit for all concerned.

The ability of working in groups and teams is largely determined by how the relationship between men and women is constructed and how people's different characters are dealt with. Who talks more, who talks less? Who makes decisions, who is responsible for the climate? Who is present in which role and how? In this context, today nobody can avoid the additional qualification gender competence.
