The Study Concept: Dual and Practical

The Business Administration and Service Management is a full-fledged Bachelor's programme with an internationally recognised degree. It follows a unique dual study model and spans seven semesters.

As a university, we provide the theoretical foundation and enable you to organise your studies through flexible study and time models with intensive support.

To ease the transition for international students, the lectures for the first two semesters are conducted 100% online and in English. This allows you to participate from your home country or any location of your choice. Subsequently, you will come to the Deggendorf campus for on-site studies. German courses are also part of your studies from the first semester.

During the main study period starting from the third semester, you will alternate between time at the university (theory phase) and at a renowned hotel company (practical phase). This allows you to apply the knowledge gained directly in practice.

Focus on your studies while simultaneously financing your living expenses. You will receive a monthly salary from your practical employer, giving you, as an international student, the opportunity to build a life and career in Germany.

Your advantages of a dual study programme

  • Financing Your Studies: A fixed monthly income ensures your financial independence. Typically, our practice partners pay €1,000 in the first year, €1,100 in the second year, and €1,200 in the third year, gross. The best part: practical days are an integral part of your studies, allowing you to earn money without additional stress.
  • Excellent Career Opportunities: Partnering with a company significantly increases your career and retention prospects.
  • Benefit from Our Network: Leverage our network of practice partners. We actively support you in finding a partner company.
  • We Support You: We assist you with all questions related to your dual studies and offer numerous support services.
  • No Blocked Account Needed: As an international student in this dual programme you do not need to prove a blocked account since you receive a monthly income. This helps you quickly establish yourself in Germany.
  • Faster Visa Process: The dual study format simplifies the visa process.
  • Why DIT: DIT offers a multicultural and family-friendly environment with excellent support services. Learn more about the benefits of studying at DIT: Why Study at DIT?

Course Structure

Foundation Studies

The 1st and 2nd Semester are completed via supervised distance learning from your home or any location of your choice. The lectures are conducted in English.

Finding a practical placement

Once you have passed all your exams in the first semester, we invite you to interviews with our partner companies. After a successful interview, you will be offered an employment contract.

This contract guarantees you a monthly income for the remaining semesters of your Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Service Management, financing both your studies and living expenses.

Having an employment contract is a prerequisite for transitioning to the main study phase.

Dual Main Study Phase

Continuing your studies from the 3rd semester onwards is only possible if you have a contract with a practical company. In the unlikely event that you pass all exams but cannot find a partner company, we can offer you a transition to an alternative study programme.

Half of the main study phase is combined with practical work. This structure allows you to apply and deepen your knowledge immediately. You will also spend non-lecture periods at your company, receiving a monthly salary, social benefits, and vacation entitlement.
