Seminars, Electives and Training to be a Supervisor Course

The Career Service offers interdisciplinary seminars, workshops and lectures which are designed to facilitate entering into the career market for you, guide you in your professional orientation and help you with job applications. In addition, through our training seminars on Studying and Personal Competencies students acquire important skills for their studies and their personal development.

We offer a diverse range of courses and events; from academic dissertations, to a variety of software courses, to self-management and stress management seminars. We encourage you to take advantage of what we offer so that you are well equipped to start down your future career path. We hope you have fun, gain lots of new insights, and we look forward to your participation!

Students can earn credit points for our Professional and Personal Competence courses. More information can be found on iLearn.

Requirements:

Attend six seminars from the Career Services Semester Programme over the course of your degree program from the subareas:

  • Professional Competencies (3 seminars); and
  • Studying and Personal Competencies (3 seminars)

Exam:

You will be required to write a research paper on an assigned topic from one of the competencies areas. The paper can be written in any semester after attending the seminars.

Registration:

To receive credit for the courses you must register for the elective Career and Personal Competencies seminars before attending.

In certain degree programmes the Career Services seminars are a compulsory part of the curriculum. For further information please visit the faculty’s homepage.

What will you learn in this course?

You will learn to organize, carry out and control learning tasks independently and thereby support the practical learning process of the trainees you will later be responsible for in your professional life.

  • Fundamental questions about apprenticeships
  • Planning and implementing the apprenticeship
  • Legal foundations of apprenticeships

When does the course take place?

  • Three dates in winter semester (from September to December)
  • Three dates in summer semester (from February to June)
